Hindley Street Live

Hindley Street - Live at the Soul Box
00:00 / 00:00

Hindley Street is a live literary cabaret performed at the Soul Box on Hindley Street and broadcast live-to-air on Radio Adelaide in 2014. Hard bitten journalist Tony Collins leads this investigation into the remaking of a battered 'red light' district into an arts and education precinct. But instead of social anthropologists, town planners and local politicians, Tony invited the poet Ken Bolton and the singer, Alison Coppe, to help him tell the story of this street in the West End of Adelaide with a history like no other.

With music from the Wide Open Road House Band led by Musical Director Aaron Nash with Dave Mazzarelli on drums and vocals. The program was directed by Carmel Young and mixed live by Jonathon Heath. Outside Broadcast Producer was Lucy Kingston, Technical Director Don Balaz and Executive Producer for Radio Adelaide was Deborah Welch. Hindley Street was produced by @PRODUCTION with assistance from Arts South Australia. Images by Michelle Johnson.
